In short
De Drie Kelken takes the protection of your personal data seriously. We are De Drie Kelken, Imminkstraat 1, 3958 CG Amerongen, the Netherlands. Questions about this privacy policy or about your details? Email us at info@dedriekelken.nl or call +31 6 8308 6514.
When you visit our website, email or call us, or book a stay, we use personal data. This includes your name, place of residence, phone number and email address, the details of your booking and your payment, and anything you fill in yourself, such as dietary requirements. We may also process technical data, such as your IP address and browser details.
For your booking we ask for your first name, surname, email address, phone number and place of residence, plus your dates, your room, the number of guests and your choice of meals and extras. We use these to arrange your stay and to email you about your booking. Legal basis: the contract.
Dutch law requires us to keep a guest register. It records the name and place of residence of the person booking, the number of people, the dates and the type of ID you showed on arrival. We never make a copy of your ID and we do not ask for a citizen service number (BSN). Legal basis: legal obligation (Article 438 of the Dutch Criminal Code).
Whatever you fill in under “Is there anything we should know?” is used only for your stay. We delete it 30 days after you leave. Please only tell us what is needed.
Online payments are handled by Mollie. Mollie processes your payment details as an independent controller and has its own privacy statement.
After booking you receive a personal link to your stay. Anyone with that link can see your booking, so please do not share it. The link works until 14 days after you leave.
We email you your confirmation, a reminder before you arrive and messages about payment or changes. After your stay we sometimes ask you for a review; you can unsubscribe from that with one click.
If you email or call us, we use your details only to deal with your message and to get in touch with you about your question or your stay.
If you send us a message through the contact form, your name, email address, subject, any dates or booking number and your message are emailed to our own address; the website itself does not keep your message.
After your stay we may ask you to write a review on Google. Google’s terms apply to that. If you no longer want that email, use the unsubscribe link at the bottom.
We process personal data because it is needed for the contract, for example when you book a stay. We also do so to meet legal obligations, such as the guest register and our accounts. Sometimes it is based on our legitimate interest, for example to keep the website secure and to prevent fraud. Where consent is needed, for example for certain cookies, we ask for it separately.
The website only sets cookies that it needs to work. No tracking without your consent.
If you choose summer or winter on the website, your browser remembers that choice for 60 days.
We only share personal data when your stay requires it or the law asks for it. Hostinger (website hosting) and Titan (our email provider) process data on our behalf; we have agreements with them on protecting your details. Mollie processes your payment as an independent controller.
If we also let a room through Booking.com or Airbnb, we only share with those channels which nights are taken, without your name or details.
If we use a service that processes data outside the European Economic Area, we take appropriate measures to protect your details, as the law requires.
Your booking, payments and the guest register: 7 years after the end of the year (statutory retention period). Your email address and phone number: 24 months after you leave. Your requests: 30 days after you leave. A booking you did not complete: 48 hours.

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your details against loss, misuse, unauthorised access or unwanted disclosure. We do our best to protect your details as well as we can, but no system is entirely without risk.
You can ask to see your details, or have them corrected or deleted. What we are legally required to keep, such as the guest register and our accounts, we only delete once the retention period has ended. You can also object to processing and sometimes ask for it to be restricted or for your details to be transferred. If you gave consent, you can always withdraw it. Email us at info@dedriekelken.nl.
If you have a complaint about how we handle your details, please let us know and we will look for a solution together. You can also lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The latest version is always on this page.
